Let's celebrate the 65th anniversary of the International Union of Phlebology (IPU)!

The French Society of Phlebology, founded in 1947 by Raymond TOURNAY, is the oldest learned society dedicated to the field of Phlebology. Raymond Tournay also invented the term “Phlebology” and with his colleagues founded this association in 1947 . The SFP is therefore considered the germ cell of the International Union of Phlebology (IPU). Then other Phlebology Companies were created: Italian, German, Belgian, Netherlands, Luxembourg… This enthusiasm allowed the IUP to see the light of day on March 24, 1959. This institution is therefore celebrating its 65th anniversary today. It was officially recorded at the Château de Meyrargues near Aix en Provence. The SFP has a strong identity and national recognition, its seniority but above all its expertise which it has been able to provide to numerous generations of doctors and surgeons to learn how to treat Chronic Venous Disease.
